In a collaborative effort with the Family Rights Forum, LOUDER successfully led the ‘She Leads’ project, featuring a series of empowering workshops aimed at young girls. Held on September 28, 2022, these workshops delved into vital topics such as human rights, the universality of women’s rights, the concept of gender, and addressing all forms of violence. Participants engaged in thorough analysis of national laws, identifying how cultural legacies, customs, and traditions influence legislation, especially in personal status laws, labor laws, social security, and nationality laws. They examined these laws against the backdrop of international conventions, including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the two international covenants, CEDAW, the Declaration against Violence against Women, the Beijing Platform for Action, and Resolution 1325 – Women, Security and Peace, culminating in the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. The young girls were trained in advocacy using innovative tools, leading to their focus on the issue of domestic violence, particularly in light of Law 2014/293 and alarming statistics from the Internal Security Forces. This project not only provided them with critical knowledge and skills but also empowered them to be proactive advocates for gender equality and human rights.
