Our organization recently had the honor of participating in a workshop on the Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) agenda and Youth, Peace, and Security (YPS) initiatives. Collaborating with esteemed partners such as the Global Network of Women Peacebuilders (GNWP) and the Permanente Peace Movement, we engaged in discussions surrounding the national plan for youth peace and security.

This  workshop, held on March 1st at the Kempinski Summerland Hotel & Resort, aimed to foster dialogue, knowledge-sharing, and advocacy for the inclusion and meaningful participation of youth, particularly young women, in peacebuilding efforts. Our objectives were clear: to advocate for youth empowerment, foster partnerships, and promote conflict prevention through youth well-being.

Following the workshop, we were privileged to be invited to a high-level national forum attended by UN agencies and international organizations. This forum provided a platform to emphasize the importance of WPS and YPS initiatives in promoting peace and prosperity, with a specific focus on the critical role of youth, including young women, in these endeavors.

The outcomes of our participation were significant. Meaningful discussions took place, highlighting the vital role of youth in peacebuilding efforts. Partnerships and alliances were strengthened between decision-makers, youth leaders, and civil society actors. Importantly, there was recognition of the importance of investing in youth well-being as a preventive measure against conflicts.

In conclusion, our participation in both the workshop and high-level forum underscored our commitment to advancing the WPS agenda and YPS initiatives. By advocating for youth inclusion and meaningful participation in peacebuilding efforts, we strive to ensure sustainable peace and prosperity for all. Moving forward, our organization remains steadfast in its dedication to building a brighter, more peaceful future for generations to come.
