Leveraging Technology for Gender
Equality and Empowerment
In today’s world, where challenges and opportunities coexist, the Min Haqqiha mobile application emerges as an emerging innovative tool, paving the way for gender equality in the digital age. This pioneering tool, raised from collaborative efforts of LOUDER and the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom in Lebanon and Syria, addresses the urgent need for gender-focused solutions, especially in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Min Haqqiha – It’s Her Right” (من حقها) is more than just an app; it’s a movement. As a free, interactive platform, Min Haqqiha is dedicated to not only advocating for gender equality but also to fighting gender-based violence. It stands as a powerful educational resource, enlightening users about women’s rights and inspiring them to participate in political processes.
What truly sets Min Haqqiha apart is its approachability and interactive design. Embracing the power of technology, it aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 5, focusing on gender equality. The app features educational tools and quizzes, uniquely available offline for greater accessibility, making it a cornerstone in promoting women’s rights education in Lebanon and beyond.
LOUDER’s dedication to championing women’s rights through digital innovation has been duly recognized. The project received the iValues policy award at the regional iValues competition, a testament to its effectiveness in turning values into actionable policies. This competition, sponsored by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation MENA, serves as a vital link between innovators, civil society activists, entrepreneurs, and policy makers in the MENA Region and Europe, fostering a network that shapes policy in our evolving world.
Launched in 2021 by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation MENA, the iValues competition saw Min Haqqiha rise as a frontrunner among 260 projects from 11 countries. This victory underscores its potential to create a substantial impact in the realms of gender equality and human rights.
