LOUDER recently welcomed a dedicated team from LOYAC and Fe-male organizations to our office in Beirut, Verdun, on February 16th. Together, we focused on the crucial topic of electronic blackmail under the title “Mechanisms for Confronting Violence Against Women and Girls.”
The training provided participants with a comprehensive exploration of electronic blackmail, covering its definition, various forms, and the detrimental impacts it poses on women and girls. Furthermore, participants delved into relevant legal frameworks, both at the national and international levels, related to electronic blackmail and violence against women.
Through engaging discussions and interactive sessions, attendees enhanced their understanding of the topic and developed practical strategies to effectively address electronic blackmail within their organizations and communities. The training also served as a platform for fostering collaboration and collective action among participants from different organizations.
The objectives of the activity were clear: to enhance participants’ understanding of electronic blackmail, familiarize them with relevant legal frameworks, equip them with practical strategies for prevention and response, and facilitate knowledge-sharing to promote collaboration in addressing violence against women and girls.
The outcomes of the training were highly successful. Participants demonstrated increased awareness, engaged in meaningful discussions, and developed actionable strategies for addressing electronic blackmail. In conclusion, the training was a valuable opportunity for learning, collaboration, and capacity-building.
By addressing this critical issue, participants are better equipped to contribute to efforts aimed at promoting gender equality, protecting women’s rights, and creating safer communities for all. LOUDER remains committed to supporting such initiatives and empowering individuals and organizations to face violence against women and girls effectively. Together, we can make a tangible difference in creating a world free from violence and discrimination.
